Volunteer with Cheshire to contribute to a positive, and supportive local cause
The consumers and staff at Cheshire have been very fortunate over the years to have a relationship with North Park Church. This ever growing group of people who volunteer on projects or on a regular basis to assist us with enhancing the quality of life for people living with significant physical disabilities to live actively, independently and with dignity in their own community.
Volunteers come to us from all walks of life; some bring specific skills with them while others take skills away.
There is no doubt that the time volunteers spend with participants is appreciated, as is evident with this quote from one of the people we serve:
I can’t thank (the volunteer) enough. She’s thoughtful, efficient and even takes time to have a chat while she puts my groceries away. I couldn’t ask for more.
Statements like this confirm how important and meaningful our volunteers are in our participants’ lives.
We applaud all those who take the time out of their busy lives to contribute something back to the community and would like to take this opportunity to say Thank You to all our volunteers for the excellent work they do for us.
Here is what some of our volunteers have to say:
“I really enjoyed the volunteer dinner because I got to meet others in the group and share our experiences. It’s inspiring to hear other volunteer’s deeds. Our Volunteer Coordinator’s commitment to thank and appreciate us is truly refreshing.” – Steven
“My name is Stephanie and I have been volunteering with Cheshire for over a year. I like volunteering with Cheshire because I feel like I am a part of a team. I hope to be able to volunteer for many years.” – Stephanie
“I have been volunteering with Cheshire for about 6 months now and have found it amazingly rewarding. Each of these consumers is an angel to me.” – Monica
